May Ann (Née York) Blanchette

 May A. Blanchette (née York), 82, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, at home in Paxton, Massachusetts. A lifelong resident of Worcester until her final months, May's life was marked by quiet dedication to her family, faith, and community.

 Born on August 31, 1942, in Worcester, Massachusetts, May was the only child of Roscoe and Helen York. She graduated from South Evening High School in 1963 and remained deeply rooted in the city where she was born and raised. She worked as a quality control technician at Reed & Prince Manufacturers, and as a secretary/cashier at the Worcester Center Parking Garage for many years.

 May found joy and purpose through service. She was an active member of Bethany Christian United Parish for many years until its closure. Her commitment to helping others extended beyond the church walls—she especially valued her time volunteering with the Red Cross of Worcester, where she worked at the front desk.

 Family was central to May’s life. She leaves her daughter, June A. Norton and June’s fiancé Michael D. Mahoney Jr., both of Auburn, Massachusetts. Her grandson, Patrick J. Norton, also of Auburn MA, held a very special place in her heart. Though she had no siblings, May maintained close ties with many cousins who enriched her life with connection and shared history. A very special thank you goes to Susan St. Laurent, who was her caretaker in her final months.

 May’s legacy is one of quiet strength and enduring kindness. May her memory be cherished and bring comfort to all those who knew her.
