Marie G. Grout – Worcester
Marie G. Grout, 70 of Worcester passed away peacefully after a period of declining health on Saturday, April 11 at the Worcester Rehab & Health Care Center.
She leaves behind two daughters, Janice Hassett and her husband Thomas, Kathleen McFarland
and her husband William, four grandchildren, Caira, Aislynnand Camden Hassett and Marky Despin, one sister Jodi Rizzitano and one brother Kenneth Rizzitano and his wife Lisaand several nieces and nephews. Marie was predeceased by her mother Janice (Surprenant) Macjewski, her husband of 32 years, James L. Grout, her brothers Stephen, Edward and James Garceau.
Marie enjoyed 20 years of traveling throughout her husband’s Army career being stationed in Germany, California, Colorado, New York and Rhode Island. Marie worked as a CNA in several nursing homes. She also enjoyed baking and reading romance novels.
She thought highly of her care takers at the Worcester Rehab & Health Care Center and considered them as extended family.
A private graveside service will be held at All Faiths Cemetery in Worcester on Thursday, April 16.
