Luis "Cortijo" Lopez Medina

Worcester – Luis “Cortijo” Lopez Medina, 80, passed away peacefully in his sleep on the evening of Monday November 18, 2024 at the St. Mary Healthcare Center.

Luis was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico on March 26, 1944, son of the late Juan Lopez Aponte and Victoria Medina Pedrasa; he is survived by his son Benjamin Valentin of Puerto Rico, his daughter Marilyn Quinones of Worcester, and his daughter Yolanda Lopez of Worcester; seven grandchildren: Xavier Irrizary, Luis Angel Modero, Jessica Acosta, Michael Antuna, Joshua Antuna; Jennifer Valentin; Benjamin Valentin; he also leaves six great-grandchildren as well as many relatives and dear friends.  Luis was predeceased by his daughter Mixdalia Lopez.

Luis will be fondly remembered as a gentle and loving man who loved living life to the fullest; he loved driving his big old cars from the 70s, he enjoyed dancing, but most of all, Luis was happiest when making people laugh; he had a tremendous sense of humor and was always ready to tell a joke.

All are welcome to attend calling hours for Luis on Thursday November 21, 2024 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm in the Graham, Putnam & Mahoney Funeral Parlors, 838 Main Street Worcester, MA.  Funeral and Committal Services will be held in Luis’ hometown of San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico.
