Worcester- Julius Taiwo Samuel, 77, passed away peacefully at home on October 27, 2015.
Julius was born in Lagos, Nigeria to Samuel Wade Odaje and Catherine Omowunmi Oko. He leaves his wife of 39 years, Mojisola (Ogunde) Samuel. Julius leaves his beloved children: Bola Samuel-Machado of London, UK, Femi Samuel of Worcester and his fiancee Olamide Oladipo of Lagos, Nigeria, Abisola (Samuel) Olaleye, Esq. and her husband Dr. Seyi Olaleye of Meridian, MS, Dr. Bankole Samuel and his wife Leigh Samuel of Holden, Simisola (Samuel) Akindele and her husband Kola Akindele, Esq. of Worcester, Lape (Samuel) Runsewe of London, UK and Adekunle Samuel of Lagos, Nigeria. He also leaves 10 cherished grandchildren. In addition, Julius leaves his sisters Victoria Afelumo, Kehinde Falase (twin sister), Ebun Salami and Titilola Bamidele all of Lagos, Nigeria. He was predeceased by his brothers Akin Samuel and Bunmi Smith.
Julius worked for many years for the federal government of Nigeria, with his last position prior to retirement being Deputy Director at the Ministry of Labor. He emigrated to the United States in 2002 and has resided in Worcester since his arrival.
Julius was a true family man and was happiest being around his children and grandchildren. He was so proud of his children and all of their accomplishments.
Calling hours for Julius will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA, with a funeral service immediately following. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester, MA.
A Thanksgiving Service will be held on November 8, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Cross of Light Ministry 584 Cambridge St. Worcester, MA.
