Margaret Frances Kelly, 87, affectionately known as “Frances,” passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026, at Oasis at Dodge Park in Worcester, Massachusetts. Born on July 28, 1938, in Fross, Swinford, County Mayo, Ireland, Frances grew up surrounded by family and faith, values that shaped her kind and generous spirit throughout her life.
As a young woman, Frances immigrated to the United States, determined to build a new future. While working and raising a family, she attended night school and proudly earned her nursing degree. She became a Registered Nurse and dedicated much of her career to North Shore University Hospital in New York, where her compassion and quiet strength brought comfort to countless patients. After retiring, Frances moved to Massachusetts to be near her children.
Frances loved animals, treasured gatherings with friends, and had a passion for travel—journeying to places as far as China and throughout Europe. During her years in Mattituck, New York, she was an active member of the Power Squadron, enjoying the camaraderie of fellow boaters.
She is survived by her children, Paul and Karen Kelly Rogers; her brothers, Vincent, Thomas, and William Foley; her sister, Mary Dillon; and her grandchildren Merrit and Luke. She was predeceased by her sister Kathleen Burke. In accordance with her wishes, Frances’s ashes will be spread on Croagh Patrick, near her birthplace, this summer.
