Doreen Maldonado Obituary

Doreen Maldonado, 66, of Worcester, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on December 23, 1959, in the Bronx, New York, Doreen was the beloved daughter of George Maldonado and Flora Laura Vasquez. She spent her childhood and formative years in Jersey City, New Jersey, before moving to Worcester, Massachusetts, in 1980, where she made her home and raised her family.

Doreen was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her family was the center of her world, and she dedicated her life to caring for and supporting those she loved. She is survived by her children, Isaac Martinez of Worcester, Denise Candelaria of Worcester, David Figueroa of Oxford, and Angelique De La Rosa of Colorado.

She was the proud and loving grandmother of 18 grandchildren and great-grandmother of 2 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy and happiness.

Doreen is also survived by her siblings, Jorge Maldonado, Deborah Maldonado, Andy Maldonado, Daisy O’ Connell, and Randy Maldonado; her beloved Aunt Betty Vasquez and Uncle Adam Vasquez; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will miss her dearly.

She was predeceased by her cherished son, Daniel Maldonado, and her brothers, Frank Maldonado and Danny Maldonado.

A woman of remarkable strength and determination, Doreen was known for her hardworking nature and unwavering dedication to her family. She found joy in listening to oldies music from the 1980s and 1990s, spending time at the beach, traveling, knitting, and playing cribbage. Whether sharing stories with loved ones or enjoying life’s simple pleasures, she brought warmth and laughter wherever she went.

Doreen also had a special bond with her beloved dogs—Shaft, Max, Maximus, Molly, and Shayne—who were truly her world and faithful companions throughout the years.

Those who knew Doreen will remember her loving heart, resilient spirit, and the countless ways she touched the lives of others. Her legacy of love, family, and devotion will continue through the many lives she influenced and the memories she leaves behind.
