Worcester- Richard Emile Lehto, 77, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at UMass Memorial Medical Center- University Campus surrounded by his loving family.

Richard was predeceased by his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Patricia (Arachikavitz) Lehto, who died May 26, 2007. He is survived by his five daughters: Kathleen A. Wood and her husband Gary, Debra S. Stewart and her husband Kevin, Bonnie L. Young and her husband Kenneth, Regina B. Ortiz who lovingly cared for and lived with Richard, and Patricia A. Barter and her husband Philip. Richard also leaves 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, his brother David Lehto and his wife Carol and a sister Rita Boudreau. Richard was also predeceased by his son Bruce W. Lehto and two sisters: Helen & Janet. 

Richard was born in Worcester on September 7, 1939 a son of the late Emile M. and Alberta (Lambert) Lehto. He worked for many years as a machinist at Norton Company, Astra Pharmaceutical Company, and Lutco, where he retired from in 2005. Richard was an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He loved his family, his two cats: “His Wiz” and “Trixie”, and listening to “The Oldies.” Richard will be best remembered as being a hard working, understanding, caring and gentle soul who always had a listening ear.

Calling Hours for Richard will be Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 9-11AM with a Funeral Service starting at 11AM at the Graham, Putnam & Mahoney Funeral Parlors, 838 Main St. Worcester, MA. Interment will follow at Hope Cemetery with his wife Patricia.
