Mary Ann (Plouffe) Sweeney

  Mary Ann Sweeney, age 63 went home to be with Jesus peacefully on Monday, October 2nd, 2023 with her best friend, Tucker, her loyal puppy companion by her side at home. 

  Mary was born in Worcester, MA on August 22nd, 1960 to parents Joseph and Janet Plouffe. Mary was the youngest of five siblings. She graduated from Worcester Voke and went on to work at a small corner store, where she met her husband Michael Sweeney in 1987, who was the milk delivery man. She later went to work at Mrs Mack’s bakery. Mary was the most devoted mother to her two children, Carrieann Plouffe, and Michael Sweeney Jr. 

  Mary loved Jesus fiercely and attended what used to be First Assembly of God on Lincoln street in Worcester as frequently as she could, before following her pastor, Daniel Condon Sr. To his church, Meeting Place church in Framingham MA. Mary attended there for many years. 

  Mary is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years, Michael Sweeney Sr, a loving son Michael Sweeney Jr. and his life partner Luis Aviles of Millbury MA, Two sisters, Diane and Joyce Plouffe of Worcester MA, seven grandchildren - Faith Serrenho and her husband Andrew Serrenho of Palmer MA, Brianna Petrides and her fiancé Zachary Goddard of Palmer MA, Felicia Whalen and her fiancé Nicholas Bouchard of Worcester MA, Steven Whalen of Worcester MA, three great-grandchildren who were her whole heart and joy, Alyssa Richardson-Duff, Maverick Serrenho, & Harper Goddard  and countless more extended family members/friends. 

  Mary was predeceased in death by her parents Joseph and Janet Plouffe, her brothers Joseph and John Plouffe, and her daughter, Carrieann Plouffe. Mary was a light and a joy to any and all who knew her, and she shared her love with anyone who needed it. Nothing meant more to Mary than spending precious time with her family, and loved ones. Mary will be missed tremendously.

  Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 6th from 9-11am at Graham Putnam and Mahoney, 838 Main St Worcester, MA 01610 with a burial to follow at Hope Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at her home church, Meeting Place Church in Framingham MA on Saturday, October 7th at 11:30 am.
