Worcester- Robert L. White, 72, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Lutheran Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center after an extended illness.
Robert leaves his wife of many years, Mary (Montgomery) White of Alabama, his four children: Cynthia Cook of Springfield, Marcia Knighton, Lucy White of Alabama, and Robert L. White Jr. of Alabama. He also leaves 3 grandchildren, a sister, Arlene Williams of Pennsylvania, and many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his son, Stewart White.
Robert was born in Hartford, CT a son of the late Stewart and Lucy (Walker) White. He graduated from Hartford public schools, and later went on to work for the City of Hartford as a sanitation worker for many years. Robert was known to volunteer at Bingo, visit with senior citizens and he loved his volunteer work at his neighborhood gas station. He enjoyed fishing and reading, watching movies, and he especially loved to listen to jazz music.
Calling Hours for Robert will be Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 1-2PM at the Graham, Putnam & Mahoney Funeral Parlors, 838 Main St. Worcester, MA with a Funeral Service immediately following visitation. Burial will be at a later date.
