Jose A Gonzalez

 José A. González, 54, of Worcester, MA, passed away on June 6th, 2023, unexpectedly.

 José was born on July 27th, 1968, to Braulio González and Herminia Rosa in Humacao, Puerto Rico.

 José started working at his dad’s auto mechanic shop in Puerto Rico when he was about twelve years old. For nearly 43 years, he practiced as a mechanic learning to work with every single car make and model out there. José could fix any car that came in front of him and every mechanic that knew him was impressed with his deep expertise as a mechanic. While this was his main profession, he also took on other jobs, such as a truck driver, tractor trailer driver, and passenger driver.

 José spent 28 years of life with his partner Elisa (Eli) Davila. They met through his younger brother Eric who introduced him to Eli for a job. Jose started working for Eli, and right away they knew they were meant for each other. While Eli’s kids were grown up when they met, he had the pleasure of helping care for the younger ones as his grandkids. Eli had Julio and Jonny Torres. Julio has five kids and Jonny has six kids. José had 11 grandkids, all of them who he adored. With his mechanic skills, José inspired his son, Jonny, and grandson, Jadiel, to become auto mechanics. When Jadiel graduated with an auto mechanic degree, he dedicated his graduation to José. 

 Jose was known for his outgoing personality and for being comical. He would make anyone in the room laughs hysterically, and always had a story to tell.

 His liked listening to music. His favorite songs were “Tengo un tractor Amarillo” by Zapato Veloz, “Que me la devuelva” by Raulin Rodriguez and “Que digan lo que quieran de mi” by Olga Tañon.

Family Who Passed Before

José was predeceased by his mother, Herminia Rosa, who died on August 6th, 1996 and his father, Braulio González, who died on November 9th, 2004,by his younger brother, Eric González who died in Worcester, on July 10th, 1996, and his sister Tati Gonzalez De Leon who passed away November 12th, 2022.

Family He Leaves Behind

 He is survived by partner Elisa (Eli) Davila, his brothers, Carlos González and Braulio González, his sisters Mercedes González, Lina M. González and Annis D. González, his kids Julio and Jonny Torres and all of his grandkids.

Services will be held at Graham, Putnam & Mahoney Funeral Parlors 838 Main St Worcester MA 01610 on Thursday June 15th, 2023 from 4pm-6pm Following services there will be a reception at Eli’s home at 69 Maywood St. Worcester, MA.
